John has been a Fire Fighter with the Honolulu Fire Department for 13 years. He is currently a Fire Fighter III (driver) of Quint 31 at Kalihi Kai Fire Station. John went to Saint Louis high School, then went on to the University of Hawaii and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. John has a beautiful wife of 9 years, Estee, and two children, Kaiwikuamo’o (8) and Teoraroa (3). He loves to spend time as a family at Sandy’s tide pools catching fish for their aquarium or boogie boarding at walls. John grew up in the ocean diving and fishing and would always imagine how the reefs would have looked before they were over fished and polluted by marine debris. Now he’ll get a chance to see that first hand with PMDP!!
